Tall and muscular, with copper-brown curls that drift down his neck to rest atop his collar, G'avon looks to be in his mid-30s and has a friendly and approachable air. His face is traditionally handsome, with a square jaw, patrician nose, and bright green eyes framed by girlishly long lashes. G'avon's shoulders are broad and his arms powerful and well-muscled. His skin, never pale to begin with, has been further browned by the sun. He has a mellow tenor voice, and carries himself with the confidence of someone who's never had cause to doubt himself.

G'avon is a gregarious and sometimes arrogant brownrider whose charm, confidence, and good looks make him popular. He has a mellow tenor voice and a way with the ladies, and quite the reputation about the lower caverns. He's been responsible for a number of pregnancies -- the tally varies, depending who you ask -- and has four known children, each with a different woman. G'avon is often at the center of a large group of friends, and he hosts numerous parties and gatherings in the living cavern, in riders' weyrs, at the lake, and sometimes at an undisclosed beach location. Wangling an invitation to one of G'avon's parties serves as a social stamp of approval to those concerned about such things.
G'avon and Klioth have moved between weyrs far more than most riders. Klioth hatched at Fort, and G'avon moved to Benden during the resettlement of the weyrs. After several turns of butting heads with Sh'van, G'avon got tangled up in some trouble involving a theft at Lemos, and so to placate Lord Ytros (and get G'avon out of his hair) Sh'van sent the brown and his rider to High Reaches Weyr, accepting a young female greenrider in exchange.
G'avon returned to Benden along with the group of High Reaches riders who transferred during the summer of Turn 3. He seems to be something of a ringleader of the Reachian group -- he hosts all their parties, at least -- but on the other hand, he invites Bendenites to the parties as well, some of them former friends and some new friends. As a result, he's able to form a bridge between the Reachian riders and the Benden riders, and help the Reachians integrate into the weyr. His ambition to be promoted to wingsecond is no secret.
